Something not working right?

Most issues come down to one of Android's permission toggles. Start here before reaching out, it'll usually save you a round trip.

Blocks or limits aren't closing the app

This almost always means System-wide blocking (ReClaim's Accessibility Service) isn't turned on. Without it, ReClaim can still track usage and show notifications, but can't force an app closed from outside itself.

Fix: open ReClaim > Settings > Blocking > System-wide blocking, and turn it on. Android will ask you to confirm the Accessibility permission, this is what lets ReClaim detect when a blocked app opens, from anywhere, not just from ReClaim's own launcher.

ReClaim stopped enforcing after a while

Some phone manufacturers aggressively kill background apps to save battery, which can stop enforcement silently. Fix: enable Unrestricted battery usage for ReClaim in Android Settings > Apps > ReClaim > Battery, and disable any manufacturer-specific "battery optimization" or "app hibernation" toggle for ReClaim specifically.

Blocking suggestions aren't showing up

The "block together" suggestions are based on your most-used apps over the last 7 days, which requires the Usage Access permission. Grant it under Android Settings > Apps > Special access > Usage access > ReClaim.

A hidden app still opens without a challenge

Double-check the hide level under Settings > More > Hidden Apps, "Simple" hides an app from the list but doesn't add any challenge by design. Switch it to Medium or Maximum if you want a barrier before it opens.

I want to reset everything

Uninstalling ReClaim removes all of its local settings, blocks, limits, and schedules. It does not affect any other app or its data. If you only want to clear ReClaim's own data without uninstalling, use Android Settings > Apps > ReClaim > Storage > Clear data.
