Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 30, 2026

1. Overview

ReClaim ("we," "us," "our") is based in Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains what information the ReClaim Android application and tryreclaim.io website collect, how it's used, and the choices and rights you have, wherever in the world you're using ReClaim from.

The short version: ReClaim is designed to work entirely on your device. App usage data used for blocking, limits, and suggestions is read and stored locally on your phone and is not transmitted to our servers. We don't run ads and don't sell personal information. An account is entirely optional.

2. Information we collect

On-device usage data

With your permission (Android's "Usage Access"), ReClaim reads how long apps have been used in the foreground, entirely on your device, to power app blocking suggestions and daily/weekly limit tracking. This data is stored locally in the app's own database and is not sent to us.

App settings and configuration

Your blocks, limits, reminders, schedules, hidden-app choices, and display preferences are stored locally on your device.

Account information (optional)

If you choose to create an account for future cloud backup or settings sync, we (through our authentication provider, Supabase) collect the email address and credentials needed to authenticate you. Creating an account is never required to use ReClaim.

Website data

If you submit your email through tryreclaim.io to be notified at launch, we collect that email address for that sole purpose. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies on this website, see our Cookie Policy for detail on what, if anything, is set.

Diagnostic data

ReClaim does not currently include third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. If that changes in a future version, this policy will be updated first, and, where required by law, we'll request your consent.

3. How we use information

  • To provide and enforce the blocking, limit, reminder, and scheduling features you configure
  • To authenticate you, if you create an optional account
  • To notify you about ReClaim's launch, if you've asked to be notified
  • To respond to support, privacy, or other requests you send us
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for targeted advertising, and we do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.

4. Legal basis for processing (EU/UK users)

Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are: consent (for example, the email waitlist, or optional account creation); performance of a contract (providing the Service you've asked us to provide via these Terms); and legitimate interests (such as securing the Service and responding to support requests), balanced against your rights and freedoms.

5. Sharing & third parties

We do not sell personal information. We share limited data with:

  • Google Play, for app distribution and, if applicable, crash-diagnostic tooling Google itself provides to all Android developers.
  • Supabase (database/authentication infrastructure), which stores the email addresses collected through our launch waitlist, and, once that feature is live, app account credentials for users who opt into creating one. Supabase acts as our data processor for these limited purposes.
  • Law enforcement or regulators, only where required by valid legal process.

6. Data retention

On-device data (usage stats, settings, blocks, limits) persists locally until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Account data, if you create an account, is retained until you delete your account or request deletion. Waitlist emails are retained until launch notification is sent or you unsubscribe, whichever is sooner.

7. Your rights, Canada

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccuracies, and withdraw consent (subject to legal or contractual restrictions). To exercise these rights, contact privacy@tryreclaim.io. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

8. Your rights, EU / UK / EEA

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the right to: access your personal data; request correction or erasure; restrict or object to processing; request data portability; and withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@tryreclaim.io.

9. Your rights, United States

If you're a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we've collected, request deletion, request correction, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still submit a request at privacy@tryreclaim.io to confirm this. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right. Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (for example Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or Utah) have similar rights, which we extend the same request process to.

10. International data transfers

Because ReClaim is used worldwide and our service providers (such as Supabase) may process data outside your home country, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws than your own, including Canada and the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for such transfers.

11. Children's privacy

ReClaim is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age under local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including relying on Android's app sandboxing for on-device data and industry-standard practices from our infrastructure providers for any account data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will update the "Last updated" date above and, where required, we'll seek renewed consent.
